Trikoopojat is an artist group formed by three painters: Erno Peltonen (b.1978 Tuusula), Tuomo Rosenlund (b.1976 Lempäälä) and Juhani Tuomi (b.1983 Tampere). They are united by a shared studio at Pyynikki Trikoo in Tampere in the early 2000s. However, as situations changed in 2017, the road took everyone in different directions. A man can leave Trikoo, but Trikoo does not leave a man.

Everyone approaches painting from their own angle. Peltonen draws from the figurative tradition and devout oil painting, depicting in his works everyday subjects such as bicycles, which are subjects as small and large as humans. Rosenlund, multiathlete of Trikoopojat, works in the wide field of visual arts, painting, drawing and with his ROP group sculpting public works. Tuomi, on the other hand, places himself in the Palsa tradition and he currently paints oil paintings on political subjects.

Trikoopojat is therefore a versatile group of artists, where everyone acts as a sovereign artist. The fraternity that gathers the group is based on the workroom's squires. Although fine art is definitely an individual genre for each artist in the group, the long-term working friendship has certainly influenced everyone's art more than you might have guessed. Daily meetings in the office, conversations during coffee breaks and good friendship have left their mark on everyone's work. The cooperation made in the spirit of talk and helping in everyday life have taken everyone's artistry forward. At the same time, you have perhaps also grown as a person, not forgetting the conversations about life and art held over pints. This all echoes in the making of Trikoopojat.
