Joensuun Taiteilijaseura, the artist association in Joensuu, functions to promote the working conditions and professional status of artists as well as to enhance arts in the province of North Karelia, Finland. The association has 134 professional members and 45 amateur members (according to the statistics in 2009).

The association organizes exhibitions, workshops, courses and is an active body in maintaining and developing the local culture scene. It functions in various cultural roles with other parties, e.g. municipal authorities.

The association office is on the second floor of the Art centre Ahjo (in Finnish: Taidekeskus Ahjo), next to Art museum (in Finnish: Taidemuseo).

The association is in charge of Galleria Kohina, art gallery, and Artoteque (in Finnish: Taidelainaamo), the oldest art lending service in Finland located in Taitokortteli premises. Taitokortteli is an active cultural quarter in the centre of Joensuu operating all year round, filled with arts and craft workshops and boutiques.
